This is part of an award-winning lottery funded school grounds development. An overgrown and barely used plot at the back of the school was transformed into a sensory quiet space. Entering from the hall a colourful mural hides most of the view, lending an air of secrecy to the space. The sensory spiral was planted with aromatic herbs and the flowering cherry in the centre was planted in memorial of a child.
Beyond the spiral are arches filled with musical instruments, willow bowers and mirrors. past these is a vegetable plot and at the playground entrance, the Guardian at the Gate warning visitors to be quiet!
